The University of Minho and the University of Lisbon are organizing the International Seminar “Conservation of Monuments and Historic Buildings”, as per the attached programme, to be held on October 2, 2026, at the Design Museum in Lisbon, Portugal. This is the final announcement.
The seminar will present national and international benchmark examples, namely:
• A recent intervention at the National Museum of Archaeology in Lisbon;
• A recent intervention at the São Carlos National Theatre in Lisbon;
• Lessons from the fire at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris;
• The conservation of Westminster Abbey in London;
• Panel discussions with participants; and
• The celebration of the 20th anniversary of UMinho flagship SAHC Master on heritage structures (msc-sahc.org).
